The Health and Medical Workers' Union announced that it voted for industrial action at 61 hospital workplaces from the 19th to the 23rd of this month and approved a general strike with a 91 percent approval rate.

Of the total 29,705 people at 61 workplaces, 24,257 (81.66%) participated in the vote, of which 22,101 (91.11%) voted in favor.

The Health and Medical Workers' Union submitted an application for mediation of labor disputes to the National Labor Relations Commission and the Local Labor Relations Commission on the 13th due to the breakdown of wage and collective agreement negotiations, and is in the process of mediation for 15 days. If the mediation fails, the union will go on strike at the same time from 7 a.m. on the 29th.

Currently, union requirements include △ normalization of medical treatment as soon as possible △ eradication of illegal medical care and clarification of the scope of work △ implementing a four-day weekly pilot project △ solving indirect employment problems △ raising wages by 6.4% compared to the total amount.

There is concern that the medical crisis will intensify if nurses and others go on strike following the medical doctor.

However, even if the health and medical union strikes at the same time, it plans to put essential personnel into tasks that are directly related to patient life, such as emergency rooms, operating rooms, and intensive care units.
